As construction on Marchwood Power gets underway, members of the Marchwood Working Group recently paid a visit to ESBI's Coolkeeragh power station in Northern Ireland.

During the day long visit, our guests were given presentations on Coolkeeragh's construction and operation, toured the plant and met with local representatives from Derry City Council who outlines the station's economic and social contribution to the local community.

Impressions of the visit to Coolkeeragh were positive and Cllr Alan Shotter from Marchwood Parish Council commented, "I was pleasantly surprised at the look of the Coolkeeragh plant and impressed at the lack of noise outside. Overall, once construction has been completed the effect on Marchwood village and visual impact will be negligible".
